Bristol College is the largest College in the South West of England.
SGD Security Ltd have worked with the City of Bristol college for nearly 10 years and always aim to keep the facilities and security team up to speed with the latest technology.
SGD Security Ltd are currently in the process of upgrade their main campus CCTV recording solution to a complete Bosch solution consisting of a number of Bosch 700 Series hybrid digital video recorders 'with the IP video inputs licensed to take each Bosch 700 series unit up to 32 channels of recording.
Utilising some of the Bosch VIPX1600 rack mounted IP encoders SGD Security Ltd have converted half of the existing analogue cameras to compressed H.264 IP technology.
The main consideration of this project was integrating this solution into the existing Cisco network with minimal disruption to other software essential to the college’s functions. This was overcome with close liaison between Proficient Systems Ltd, the specialist IT division of the SGD Group, and the college’s IT department.
Once completed, City of Bristol College will have access to ‘real-time’ archived CCTV footage from across this campus using the Bosch viewing platform.
